there's a new obsession in our house: dad's ipod. it is the first thing grant asks for when greg gets home from work and the last thing he begs to do at bedtime. because it's basically like watching TV, just on a smaller screen (well, that, and because he can oh-so-quickly finger-touch his way from the uber-popular "lots and lots of firetrucks" video to a random, raunchy video of a star wars storm trooper thrusting his hips over and over again), we've been trying to limit grant's ipod time. sunday, in fact, was an "ipod-free day" - something grant was NOT very happy about. (he asked me this morning: "mom, are we still taking a break from the ipod?")
like a crack-addict, grant has invented ways to circumvent our new rules to get his ipod fix. before greg and i were wise to it, grant would wait until greg and i were in different rooms, then approach me quietly and say, "mom, dad said i can watch his ipod. can i?" and being the respectful mom/wife that i am, i would agree that he could, and then he would turn right around and go to greg and say, "dad, mom said i can watch your ipod. yippee! want to snuggle on the couch and watch it with me?"
one thing's certain: this kid wasn't born yesterday.
