Christmas happened (i swear)

you'll just have to take my word for it.

not only did i forget to charge our video camera in order to capture - in real time - paige's first christmas and grant's first big boy bike from santa, i didn't realize that we only had 10 seconds left on our VERY LAST TAPE. oh, and i left my regular camera at greg's parents' house on christmas eve. so the only christmas footage you'll be seeing from us this year will be the few random shots we managed to finagle on christmas eve. bah humbug.

that said...we had a wonderful holiday. spent the eve at the in-laws', where we had a yummy dinner, fun presents, and a nice visit with greg's distant cousins from germany, stefan and manuela. stefan is a dry, silly german and they brought us lots of haribo gummies, so i was a big fan.

christmas morning started off a bit rocky (see camera drama, above) but once i got over my non-camera-charging, bad-mommy self, we had a lovely time. grant was in awe of his new bike (even though he refuses to ride it, much to greg's chagrin) and paige enjoyed rolling around in all the delicious wrapping paper. she took a nice long christmas morning nap...which caused us to arrive at 9:30 mass at 10:15. oops. sorry God.

after church, we headed to my parents' house to open lots of awesome gifts. my brother had courtside tix to the lakers/celtics game at 2pm (jonny is a well-connected guy), so we headed home around 1pm for naps, and then returned for dinner. as usual, my amazing mom threw a big, yummy dinner party for extended family...even though she, my dad and brother had to get on a flight at 8am the next morning! they are currently on a small masted ship, cruising along costa rica with a bunch of the nichols clan. wish we could've joined them, but those small masted ships - and the people who cruise on them - aren't exactly baby friendly.

i mean...ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? so jealous.

we spent the rest of the long weekend organizing the house, playing with our new toys, donating our old toys, and sitting on the couch with a tecate watching football/basketball/golf reality TV (actually, that was just greg. grant drinks bud.). HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!!!
