paige no longer wants to be a football player for halloween. instead, she's decided to follow in the footsteps of most other 2.5-year-old girls and be a fairy princess.
HAHAHAHA!
yeah right.
she now wants to be none other than the USC mascot, Tommy Trojan.
this new obsession/character began when we took the kids to the USC/UW football game two weekends ago. since then, she assumes the Tommy character several times a day, donning the Trojan helmet Nana bought for her at a halloween store.
a little glimpse into life with paige when she's "in character."
last week, at my gym, we were playing with a big foam floor ring. it's about 4 feet across and 2 feet deep, with an open center that kids can sit inside of when it's lying on the floor. paige was sitting inside of it and i MISTAKENLY said, "oh, paige, is that your coliseum? are you tommy trojan inside the coliseum?"
30 minutes later she was still inside that darn ring, fighting off anyone who came near it or even suggested she come out of it to join circle time. she just kept screaming "MY COLISEUM!!!" and got so upset that i had to take her outside so she could settle down. full on tantrum.
needless to say, the first thing i did at my gym this week was hide the damn "coliseum" behind the slide.
