grant knows where it's at

grant (like the rest of us) is very much into the dodgers these days. we talk about the players, their numbers and their positions all the time. he's informed me that he wants to change his name to Russell Martin when he gets older.

the other day we were talking about how quick Juan Pierre is, and somehow i remembered that the first line of the Jay-Z/Beyonce song "Deja Vu" is something like "Used to run base like Juan Pierre..." so i click on over to youtube so grant can see this for himself. which he did. over and over and over again.

"do you like that video, grant?"

"i do."

"why? what do you like about it? the singing? the beat? the dancing?"

"mom, i like beyonce."

so of course, like a good mom (who's also a little obsessed with beyonce), i just had to show him some of her other videos. he literally started crying when i wouldn't let him watch the "Single Ladies" video for the tenth time the other night.
