he speaks the truth

grant really does have wonderful manners these days. all sorts of pleases and thank yous and excuse mes going on. but the finer points of etiquette are still beyond him. take tact, for instance.

someday he'll say: "mom, you look great, but i bet you're tired after such a long day. can i pour you a glass of wine and make you a cozy spot on the couch?"

but for now: "mom, why are your eyes all red right there? they're cracked."

someday: "please don't wear that bikini. i don't want all my friends checking you out. it's disgusting."

now: "mom, your tummy is all smooshy. why is it all smooshy like that? is that diarrhea in there?"

someday: "happy birthday, mom! here's a gift certificate for that new hair salon you've been dying to go to."

now: "mom, your hair looks all crazy like that. why is it sticking out like that?"
